Giriloyo, Batik Village

Batik handicraft center in Giriloyo, Imogiri, Bantul District, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), began to set up a tourist village with leather centers Pucung Hamlet, Village Wukirsari.

According to him, a little or a lot of tourists who visit the batik craft centers in this region, for the local craftsmen is something exciting, because it means Giriloyo began widely known to the public.

"Every holiday season no matter how many tourists who visit Giriloyo still welcome local batik artisans," he said.

He said to anticipate the likely number of tourists visiting the Giriloyo batik centers, the institute offers a recreational tour packages around the village and learn batik with local craftsmen instructor.

"Besides, we also prepare meals and beverages are a traditional Imogiri uwuh and pecel wedang turi. With this dish, is expected tourists can enjoy the rural atmosphere Giriloyo typical," he said.

To support the marketing Giriloyo batik, it hoped many promotional activities to include artisans in each exhibition, both at the national level as well as DIY.
